M. A. Mac Curfman, PMP

M. A. Mac Curfman is the founder and principal of M.A.Curfman Learning, a global training and coaching firm. He is also the founder and Chief Coffee Guru of Mac’s Java Coffee Roasters, a specialty coffee roasting company. Mac also has founded Go Global Inc., a small not-for-profit organization, where he does leadership development in West Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Mac has been an entrepreneur and an iconoclast thinker his entire career, having previously served as a senior consultant in a top national consultancy and as the founder and CEO of a governmental advisory practice. Early in his career, he served for nearly a decade as a city manager, and before that, as a regional planner in an economic development firm.

M. A. Mac Curfman has earned a tremendous reputation as a go-to resource and as a non-conventional problem-solver. The breadth of his knowledge and experience in diverse industries, businesses, and government agencies has made him a unique asset to thousands of enthusiastic consulting, training, and coaching clients. In addition to his tremendous range, Mac's deep expertise includes leadership development, strategic thinking and planning, project management, small business marketing, and business and personal communication.

In addition to his academic credentials from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Maine, Mac has completed extensive Dale Carnegie® training. He is also a certified Entrepreneurship and Business Life Coach, and has been certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Mac has been married to his college sweetheart, Amanda, for over 35 years. They live in the U.S. in Columbia, South Carolina, and have two wonderful adult children. Their daughter is an entrepreneur and runs her own wedding photography and creative marketing firm. Their son has just graduated from college and is pursuing a graduate degree in history. 

Well-traveled, Mac thrives in diverse cultures. He has traveled to and worked in 46 U.S. states and territories, and in countries on five continents. He loves roasting and drinking coffee and is an avid outdoorsman, as well as a bibliophile (reading about 100 books a year).

Mac is currently writing a book on leadership, entitled “LEAD!: Important Actions of a Leader.” He will also shortly be releasing a series of books he has written on project management.
